DevOps Engineer II – Azure 🌐
Join our ArcGIS Online group at Esri, where you'll be pivotal in collaborating with a dynamic team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and DevOps engineers to operate vital SaaS capabilities across multiple cloud providers and regions. Your expertise will help enhance our cloud-based mapping platform, critical for analyzing and sharing geographic data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with SREs and DevOps engineers to enhance SaaS capabilities.
- Design, implement, and maintain operational components within our ArcGIS Online hosted services platform, utilizing modern container infrastructure with Kubernetes.
- Develop deployment tools, scripts, and other components to enable seamless application deployment across global cloud platforms with zero downtime.
- Build scalable cloud infrastructure monitored with automated system health checks using tools like Prometheus.
- Partner closely with development teams to streamline workflows around application build, test, and deployment.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of software development or DevOps engineer experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell for administration tasks.
- Experience with automation using scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Golang) and tools such as Puppet/Chef.
- Strong understanding of web protocols and technologies.
- Familiarity with version control concepts and build systems.
- Experience with continuous integration/deployment tools like Jenkins.
- Knowledge of web servers (Jetty, Tomcat, IIS).
- Understanding of web technologies, networking, security, scaling, and cloud native architecture.
- Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
- Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Travis, CircleCI).
- Background in building deployment tools.
- Master’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
