We are looking for a dynamic research and evaluation leader to steer all MEL functions across various countries in Africa. This is a unique opportunity to influence program strategies aimed at improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Location: Flexible options available in Burundi, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia. Main locations include Kigali, Rwanda or Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual evaluation studies to measure One Acre Fund's impact on farmers. πŸ“ˆ
  • Uphold the highest quality of data collection and analysis. πŸ”
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the MEL staff to establish excellence in rural data practices.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align MEL results with strategic program decisions.
  • Deepen One Acre Fund's evidence base through experimental studies on farmer impact. 🌱
  • Design robust methods for evaluating emerging programs related to market access, insurance, and resilience.
  • Provide analytical insights to guide organizational leaders on investment options.
  • Ensure transparent data insights, accessible to both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or above in relevant fields (agriculture, economics, statistics, etc.). πŸŽ“
  • 7+ years in monitoring and evaluating complex programs, especially in rural livelihoods.
  • Significant quantitative experience with statistical software (STATA, R preferred).
  • 5+ years of team management experience across diverse geographies.
  • Exposure to multicultural environments in developing regions.
