We are seeking a Research Engineer to contribute to groundbreaking research in Human-Robot Interaction and Intelligent Vehicle Systems. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robotic platforms and simulation environments for human-robot interaction and intelligent vehicle research.
- Implement and integrate robotic systems using ROS (Robot Operating System) and related frameworks.
- Build experimental rigs and testbeds using hardware components such as sensors, actuators, and cameras.
- Create software tools and algorithms for real-time data collection, system control, data analysis, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary experts to design and conduct human-in-the-loop experiments and analyze results.
- Contribute innovative machine learning approaches to enhance driver assistance and human-robot interaction.
- Ensure reproducibility and scalability by maintaining and documenting software and hardware developments.
Qualifications:
- Masterโs degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in ROS and experience analyzing data from robotic and human-robot interaction experiments.
- Hands-on experience with robotic hardware, including sensors and embedded systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Familiarity with simulator frameworks (e.g., CARLA, Gazebo, AirSim).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative spirit in a research environment.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques for perception, control, or human-robot interaction.
- Experience with real-time data acquisition from sensors like cameras, LiDAR, and IMUs.
- Background in human-subject experiments involving robots or intelligent vehicles.
- Skills in designing and fabricating custom hardware for robotic testbeds.
- Knowledge of software development best practices (version control, CI/CD, documentation).
