Position Overview:
We are seeking a Staff System Test Engineer to join our Advanced Research and Development team. Your mission will be to ensure our R&D projects meet their objectives and lay the groundwork for future successes in the realm of aviation. This is a hybrid position with three days onsite in Mountain View and/or Hollister, providing flexibility for remote work on other days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team leaders to create comprehensive project plans, covering objectives, resources, schedules, and anticipated impacts.
- Execute project plans through hands-on work including coding, hardware assembly, data analysis, and documentation.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to the R&D Sr. Manager, CTO, and other stakeholders.
- Drive collaboration between various teams to efficiently achieve project goals.
- Participate in the flight testing of autonomy technologies, new propulsion systems, and contribute to advanced aircraft concepts.
What We Are Looking For:
- Education: Bachelorβs Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Proven track record in the integration and testing of aircraft or large integrated systems, with hands-on involvement in mechanical/electrical systems.
- Skills: Knowledgeable in mechanical design, electrical troubleshooting, data acquisition, and instrumentation.
- Leadership: Experience leading successful test campaigns from planning through execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with tools such as NX, Teamcenter, Python, Matlab, JIRA, and various communication protocols.
