As a part of our Toast API Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing communication among 100+ teams and ensuring our APIs are user-friendly, consistent, and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Complex Projects: Drive significant projects that enhance the developer experience across Toast.
- Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve quality.
- Troubleshoot & Debug: Address and resolve production issues swiftly as they arise.
- Architectural Discussions: Engage in architectural discussions to influence the technical roadmap
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative team spirit.
Qualifications:
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead projects from design through to rollout.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in Kotlin/Java and knowledgeable in API standards such as OpenAPI, gRPC, or GraphQL.
- Developer Tools Familiarity: Experience with AWS, Docker, GitHub, and building Backend API Services.
- Strong Communication: Confident in tackling challenges and open to seeking guidance when necessary.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with AI integrations or exposure to React/Typescript.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and familiarity with K8s, Gradle, Postgres, or Backstage Developer Portal.
