Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a Senior Enclosure Mechanical Engineer - CAD who is analytical, motivated, and eager to tackle complex engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will excel in structural design, validate designs with finite element analysis (FEA), and ensure compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop structural designs for enclosures and sheet metal frames for high-density equipment.
- Utilize structural design codes (EN 1993, ISO 1496, IBC-2018/2021, etc.) to guide project work.
- Iterate designs based on analysis and testing, focusing on engineering feasibility.
- Conduct physical tests for seismic and other certifications alongside licensed Professional Engineers (PE).
- Identify and implement engineering improvements in design, material selections, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Execute design optimization studies using tools like DOE/DFSS.
- Employ DFMA principles to create efficient product parts.
- Communicate complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Build part libraries and recognize design automation opportunities.
- Work with consultants and test labs for environmental and seismic testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across various departments for successful deployments.
- Present design solutions to stakeholders confidently, incorporating feedback into the design cycle.
- Uphold and demonstrate Fluence values consistently.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering with 4 years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/structural engineering with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical design, drafting, and experience with PTC Creo, and SAP/Windchill PLM tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, sheet metal fabrication, inspection, and testing.
- Understanding of DFM and DFA concepts; experience in enclosure design or battery energy storage systems is a plus.
- Skills in creating design automation tools in CREO and using structural analysis tools like ANSYS Mechanical are advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of ISO and ASME Y14.5-2018 drafting standards and GD&T.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
